I have the worst headaches. Normally because I don’t wear my glasses, and as you can see I haven’t been drawing myself with them lately. It all started in Art I …

We’ve just moved into a new room, and almost everyone was really excited. Except for me. You see, our teacher had told us we were going into a new room, with lots of natural lighting. I knew otherwise. We were going to be put into the old Choir room, which is in the middle of a building. Away from the perimeter walls. Meaning no windows. Meaning no natural light.

I thought my eyeballs were going to burst right through my head, and thank god they didn’t. And you’d think this wouldn’t be a problem, surviving in a florescent-lit room since I’m at a school. No other rooms had just purely light-yellow-ugly-tan walls.

So, because I literally had nothing better to do in that class, I talked and listened to people, mostly listened, with my eyes closed and my head hunched over. Oddly enough, I looked like I was sleeping, and most of the class thought I was sleeping until I began saying “No I’m not” without raising my head. The teacher, on the other hand, thought I was sleeping, and decided to tell me to “wakey wakey, you’re way far behind and you need to be awake more than sleeping.” I assume she did this to get a ruse out of the class, but them knowing that I was awake and knowing my eyes were on fire, they just stared, and she backed off.

Algebra II was a bit better, except my pain had spread to my brain. The Quadratic Formula makes literally no sense when you feel the way I did, but I trucked through.

Then came bowling practice.

That was probably the biggest relief I had felt after Art. You see, when I bowl, I focus, and I focus hard on those pins that I want- no, need- to knock down. So when I’m there in my starting position, I feel nothing but pure focus on those pins. An hour and a half blew by in record time.

But, when my focus was gone, my headache game blring back with enough force to make up for the lost pain during practice, which made me much like a zombie until the Ibuprofen kicked in.

And that’s why the comic was late.
